Two-Ninety performing live

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO • LIVE & LOUD(ISH)

Modern hits.
Classic tunes.
One job: get you dancing.

Six friends. Four singers. Zero interest in standing still.

↓ TURN IT UP

THIS IS TWO-NINETY

We play songs people know.
Then we try to make them dance.

Rock, pop, new stuff, old stuff, and the occasional song that makes someone at the bar yell “NO WAY!”

MEET THE BAND

Six friends. Several questionable decisions.

Danya

Danya “Pixie”

Lead Vocals

Small package. Big voice. Front and centre while the rest of us try to keep up.

Kelly

Kelly

Rhythm Guitar • Vocals • MC

Backup vocals, relentless energy and keeper of the microphone between songs. LET’S… maybe keep the rest for the live show.

Dan

Dan “The Special Sauce”

Keys • Guitar • Sax • Vocals • Etc.

If an instrument appears on stage, Dan can probably play it. Annoying, really.

David

David “Music School”

Lead Guitar

Knows music theory and, according to the other five, makes sure everyone knows that he knows music theory.

James

James

Bass • Vocals • Bagpipes*

Solid as a rock on bass. Sings too. Occasionally introduces bagpipes because apparently bass wasn't enough.

John

John

Drums • Accounting

Keeps the beat, keeps the books, and deploys a dry one-liner when nobody is prepared for it.

* Yes. Bagpipes.

WHAT WE PLAY

Wait… you guys play that?

That's the idea. Our set jumps decades without asking permission.

COME MAKE SOME NOISE

Upcoming shows

We've made noise at Monaghan's · Temple Bar · Black Swan · Moonshine Café · Gingerman · Leathertown Festival · The Merchant and more backyards than we can count.

WHY TWO-NINETY?

It started with Geezer a better idea.

We've been playing together for six years, mostly because we're friends and apparently none of us had the good sense to stop.

For a while we called ourselves Geezer — a nod to Weezer. Funny? Yes. A brand we wanted to live with forever? Not so much.

So we took the number from the house where we rehearse and became Two-Ninety. The name stuck. So did the band.

These days you'll find us in pubs, bars, festivals, fundraisers and community events around Oakville and Southern Ontario, playing everything from The Who to Chappell Roan and trying very hard to make the dance floor somebody else's problem.
